The October issue of Management today contains a special feature on recent developments in corporate social responsibility (CSR). For example ‘The ethical evangelists’ discusses how growing public awareness for ‘sustainable ways of living and consuming’ are forcing companies to 'do the right thing'. As the recent Mattel case demonstrates, companies that rely on global supply chains are being held to account for the whole chain and not just the bits that they directly manage. The special issue also includes an interview with Julia Cleverdon, Chief Executive of Business in the Community, a lobbying body dedicated to promoting corporate responsibility. Both these articles are freely available from the magazine's website
